About

The Media Architecture Summit 2016 (MAS 2016) in Toronto will provide a forum for discussions about the use of public projection, urban screens, and media façades. It will bring together world-leaders in architecture, industry, city planning, the arts, and academia to discuss historical precedents, present challenges, and future directions. The Summit welcomes attendees from around the world to the TIFF Bell Ligthbox on Thursday, Sept 29 with an evening keynote from internationally acclaimed media artist, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer. The Summit continues with a day of keynote addresses and panels discussions followed by a Nuit Blanche preview and launch party at Toronto’s City Hall. The final day of the summit features hands-on workshops hosted by OCAD University leading into Toronto’s Nuit Blanche, one of the world’s largest outdoor art parties. This summit is jointly organized by York University and the Media Architecture Institute (MAI). It is the first Media Architecture Institute event to be held in North America.
