The Anemix

theANEMIX is a lighting system that creates unique 3D effects. It´s developed by LUXIA, a chilean company formed by two young architects and lighting designers, Ximena Muñoz and Paulina Villalobos.

It is inspired in bioluminescence, a natural phenomenon which takes place in the sea depth, where some species produce light in order to survive in the lightless and hostile environment. Bioluminescence is produced by the reaction of two chemical components - the luciferin(biological pigment) and the luciferase (bioluminescent enzyme) - when they make contact and light - with no heat - comes out.

theANEMIX system can be used in several ways,
for example in architecture as a modular interior or exterior covering - just like a double glazing - creating a visual and lighting effect,

or as a Mood Light Surface;by changing the colour of the light or using RGB LED system.
