Hi there
Maybe some of these projects could be relevant for your blog?

ALIVE - a 180 m2 permanent and interactive media facade: http://vimeo.com/24937339

SAXO, Reactive Ceiling - a permanent and reactive media ceiling in a bank: http://vimeo.com/19204889 and with some iPhone interaction to it: http://vimeo.com/19201513

And finally TWEETx - an LED installation that visualizes the activities within Twitter: http://vimeo.com/25970814

The above projects are made by the Danish design office Kollision (http://www.kollision.dk/) in collaboration with different partners. You will find project descriptions at the individual vimeo-pages but feel free to get back to me if you are considering to show some of the projects and need more information.

Keep up the good work

3deluxe have recently completed the redesign of the facade of the renowned shopping mall Zeilgalerie in Frankfurt. At the heart of the new facade design is an extremely complex and innovative media installation as an artistic and abstract realisation of illuminated advertising in urban centres. Rather than concrete advertising slogans it conveys the urban vibrancy of the location and translates it into atmospheric light images.

Please have a look at the project at http://www.3deluxe.de/?p144

I would like to get in touch with you directly to send you images and some more info. Please let me know if you are interested. Our creative director Dieter Brell is also available for an interview.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

ShapeShift is an experiment in future possibilities of architectural materialization. This project explores the potential application of electro-active polymer (EAP) at an architectural scale. EAP offers a new relationship to space built through its unique combination of qualities. It is an ultra-lightweight, flexible material with the ability to change shape without the need for mechanical actuators. As a collaboration between the chair for Computer Aided Architectural Design (ETHZ) and the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (EMPA), shape-shift bridges gaps between advanced techniques in architectural design / fabrication and material science as well as pushing academic research towards real world applications.

State Grid Pavillon Expo 2010 Media Facade
http://datdatdat.org/state-grid-media-facade/
I had the good fortune to work for M-box together with Tamschick Media & Space to create the generative animations for the Stategrid Expo Pavillon with Sara Meloni (V4 computational design), Daniel Huber (V4 framework development and computational design) and Veith Michel (Editing & Post). My role was the design and animation of the Main LED screen. The framework and animations were developed remotely in Berlin and then implemented at the Expo 2010 site in Shanghai by Daniel and me.

SONIC VISIONS
is the name of the audio-visual concerts, media-art in space and electronic music organized by artists Thomas Maos and Fried Dähn (CAMP e.V.)

The next performance on the 16th of October is dealing specially with the influence of light and music on architecture. It features artist Vincent Royer (viola-player & composer) and Matthias Siegert (architect and media-artist). Together they create a space where light, music, movement and architecture become one entity.

Check out place and time at www.franzk.net!
See the video of former performances

franz. K is the socio-culrural center in Reutlingen/Germany.

Please mention it further,
thank you,

Hey there,

I think my colleague Michael was in touch with you earlier this year concerning our client smart. He told me that you guys are interested in stunning projects, so finally I think I have a topic that might be interesting for you.

We are supporting a new creative art space in Berlin that is very special in its concept and appearance, it is called MADE www.made-blog.com

It’s about international creative artists coming together to create new forms of interdisciplinary art pieces. The architect of the space is Alexis Dornier, an upcoming talent with an interesting history. He invented an innovative light system for the location that is really impressive.

You can check out this video, as it explains the project pretty well: http://made-blog.com/2010/03/15/made-trailer/

I would love to send you further information and some images of the location. If this could be interesting for you I would be happy to evolve a story or an interview with Alexis Dornier.

I am looking forward to your feedback!

My Best regards

Quadrature is a audio/visual performance project by Griduo* in collaboration with Due3* that interacts with the perception of santralistanbul Art and Culture Center’s Main Gallery building located in Istanbul/Turkey. It shows how audio/visual techniques can transform, create, expand, amplify and interpret spaces by using large scale video projections on architecture.

It is a live audio/visual performance composed of animated monochrome geometrical shapes matching the real size and form of the quadrilateral alluminium modules which form the facade of the building. The visual performance is accompanied with a digitally produced soundscape consisting of abstract sounds synchronized to the movement of images re-shaping and transforming the building on which they are projected. The building in turn influences and transforms the projections as well.

*Griduo is formed of Alican Aktürk and Refik Anadol both graduate students and teaching assistants in İstanbul Bilgi University Visual Communication Design. Working in the fields of live video/audio performance and architectural photography, the duo is particularly interested in the relationship between architecture and media.

VVVV Developer; Sebastian Neitsch

This concept facade developed at MIT uses organic (as opposed to LCD or SPD) electrochromic materials to create interactive windows. The project, called Croma, has a dual agenda: develop energy-efficient alternatives to smart-glazing while keeping an eye in the design opportunities that arise from it.
